Posted on 04/20/2009 02:29 am by admin1. “Home Coming 文姫歸漢 ” is a song about the saga of a female scholar, Maggie Choy in Han Dynasty 1800 years ago. She was married to the King of a powerful kingdom on Silk Road by the Han Emperor as an expensive gift in return for peace. However, 10 years later Han became more powerful and the Han Emperor forced Maggie’s husband to return her back or facing an invasion. Depite enjoying a happy marriage, Maggie volunteered to return to stop the war. The song depicts the moment when Maggie is separating from her beloved family.
The song was sung and recorded in Hong Kong during a charity concert in December, 2001 at Hong Kong City Hall. Please click to enjoy.
